PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image to be more improved in spatial resolution. SOLUTION: A sending end transmits a background and objects #1 to #3 constituting an image respectively at a transmission rate R/4, and a receiving end displays the image comprising the background and objects #1 to #3 at a certain spatial and temporal resolution. In this case, when the receiving end drags the object #1 at a fixed time t1, the sending end stops to transmit the background and the objects #2 and #3 as shown in Figure 16 (A) and transmits only the object #1 through a transmission line at a full transmission rate R. By this setup, the receiver displays the image of the dragged object #1 improved in a spatial resolution, sacrificing the temporal resolution of the image.
