PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved portable display system which is usable more power energy without reducing a usable surface space when being incorporated into a device. SOLUTION: This electric power generating type display device 10 comprises a photocell 14 for generating electric energy and an OLED display panel 12 having an OLED display element which propagates light and, at the same time, radiates the light and a substrate which is disposed on the photocell and propagates the light. This electric power generating type display 10, for example, is applied for portable telephone, etc.
