METHOD FOR SWITCHING BASE STATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for switching base stations in a mobile radio communication system comprising base stations and mobile stations in which systematically continuous communication is realized by reducing time over which communication is disabled accompanying the movement of the mobile station from area to area. SOLUTION: A base station 1 and an adjacent base station 3 communicate with a mobile station 6 wherein the communication content from the mobile station 6 includes its own positional information detected by the mobile station 6 through its own position detector. The base stations 1 and 3 are provided with cell information storage units 2 and 4 storing radio communicable area information of respective stations and interconnected by a wired or wireless connection line 5. The base station 3 compares the positional information of the mobile station 6 with the cell information of its own station, predicts movement of the mobile station 6 to an adjacent area and informs movement of the mobile station 6 to an adjacent area to the adjacent base station 3 thus switching the communication entity.
