Thin wooden box manufacturing procedure, e.g. for packaging cheese, applying coating of molten material to wood prior to cutting and assembly

The procedure for making a box from a thin layer of wood consists of preparing the wood by applying a coating of a thermofusible material that can reactivated by heat prior to cutting and assembly. The layer of wood (4) used for making the box is between 0.7 and 1 mm thick, with a residual humidity of under 30 per cent, and it is coated by passing it between a heated coating roller (2) and a rubber pressure roller (6), with the coating roller partly immersed in a tank (1) of molten coating material, equipped with a scraper (5).
