METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTLING E-MAIL ORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously settle the bill for an e-mail order of merchandise and deliver the merchandise by making use of the immediate settling function of electronic cash. SOLUTION: An e-mail order settlement center connected to the Internet receives an e-mail consisting of the order of merchandise and electronic cash transmitted from an order placement device, then imparts a characteristic identifier thereto, saves the identifier and the electronic cash, and transfers the identifier and the order of the merchandise to an order-receiving center by e-mail. The order-receiving center sends the identifier to the settlement center by e-mail after the delivery of the merchandise is complete. The settlement center settles the bill by sending by e-mail to the order-receiving center the electronic cash corresponding to the identifier of the e-mail received from the order-receiving center.
