A recharging device for recharging a battery which is permitted to be recharged at an ultra high speed. The recharging device is provided with a measuring section for measuring an electric quantity of the battery, and a recharging control section for recharging the battery by ultra high speed recharging at a first recharging rate or by high speed recharging at a second recharging rate which is lower than the first recharging rate, corresponding to an electric quantity measured by the measuring section.
