A value medium processing device is provided to obtain a compact device for discriminating authenticity of a coin and reading and recording an IC coin and an IC card by sharing a part of a slot for the coin and a slot for an electric value memory medium. A value medium processing device performs discrimination authenticity of an inputted coin through a slot by rolling a coin path(104), and cancels the coin in the coin path using a cancel unit. A part of the slot(138) for the coin and a slot for an electric value memory medium is shared. A sensing unit(114) for the electric value memory medium is installed in the slot for the electric value memory medium. The cancel unit is not operated by a non-operating unit according to the sensing of the sensing unit.
