A method for reducing a capacity of data during spread data communication is provided to be capable of detecting data patterns of spread data generated by operating 4-bit spread codes on original data, while the number of bits of binary codes which express the number of the data patterns is determined, in order to generate binary data codes corresponding to the individual data patterns, thereby reducing a capacity of the spread data. Spread data is generated and stored by operating 4-bit spread codes on original data(S10). The stored spread data is analyzed to obtain and store a total sum of spread data patterns(S20). The number of bits of binary codes which express the total sum is determined(S30). Binary data codes expressed as the number of the bits individually corresponding to each of the individual spread data patterns of the spread data are generated and stored(S40). Bit streams of the spread data are converted into bit streams of the binary data codes, so that the converted streams are stored(S50).
