A complex device and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to use functions of the complex device continuously by using a battery even if abnormality occurs in commercial AC power. A TV unit(50) performs a TV program reception function. A PC unit(40) performs a computer function. A power abnormality detector(20) detects abnormality from power supplied to each unit. A battery unit(70) supplies sub power to each unit. A control unit(60) enables the battery unit to supply the sub power to each unit to make the function of each unit performed continuously when power abnormality occurs. A display unit(30) displays various kinds of information according to the function of each unit. The TV unit includes a TV memory unit comprising a RAM(52), an HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(53), and a flash memory(54) for storing broadcasting information. The PC unit includes a PC memory unit comprising a main memory(42), the HDD(43), and the flash memory(44) for storing information performing the computer function. The control unit stores the broadcasting information to the TV memory unit and stores the PC information to the PC memory unit when the power abnormality occurs.
