<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphonium salt ionic liquid which has low viscosity, does not inhibit the diffusion or convection of reactive substrates, has extremely low reactivity with the reaction substrates, has an extremely low water content and can be utilized as a solvent for various organic synthetic reactions. <P>SOLUTION: The ionic liquid comprises a quaternary phosphonium salt expressed by general formula (1) [wherein R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>4</SB>are each a 1-6C linear alkyl, branched alkyl, alicyclic alkyl or an alkoxyalkyl expressed by -(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>O-R<SB>5</SB>(wherein, n is an integer of 1 to 6; and R<SB>5</SB>is methyl or ethyl) or the like, and at least one of the R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>4</SB>is an alkoxyalkyl; and X is an anion], and the reaction solvent comprising the ionic liquid is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
