<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for reducing a load on a CPU and suppressing increase in memory size when discarding invalid data. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor device 1 configured to perform serial communication with an external device 2 in a full duplex system and including a master function comprises: a communication control circuit 13 for controlling the serial communication with the external device 2; a transmitter side buffer circuit 11 for holding transmission data; a receiver side buffer circuit 12 for holding reception data; a control circuit 10 for inputting the transmission data to the transmitter side buffer circuit 11, receiving the reception data from the receiver side buffer circuit 12 in the serial communication, and generating identification data showing the validity of the reception data in accordance with the data type of the transmission data; and a reception data control circuit 14 for determining the validity of the reception data received by the communication control circuit 13 on the basis of the identification data, and prohibiting input to the receiver buffer circuit 12 when the data is determined to be invalid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
