PURPOSE: A watermarking method for a mobile terminal is provided to enhance an image processing speed for watermarking in the mobile terminal and minimize the image degradation after the watermark inserting by adjusting the insertion strength according to the frequency characteristic of the location. CONSTITUTION: The electronic magazine watermark image consisting of the photographing information including the telephone number of the mobile terminal, and the generic number and shooting date is generated(S10). The binary bit string of the watermark image which is generated in the watermark video generating step is inserted repetitively into the luminance component of the photographic image(S30). The binary bit string of the watermark image which is generated in the watermark video generating step is inserted repetitively into the chrominance component of the photographic image(S40). The final image is compressed and stored(S60).
