PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus that efficiently measures a length of a hot-worked metal element pipe.SOLUTION: An apparatus measures a length of a hot-worked metal element pipe. The apparatus comprises a first camera, second cameras, a one end identification part, an image selection part, an other end identification part, and a length calculation part. The first camera takes an image of a one end of the metal element pipe in a radial direction. The metal element pipe is conveyed in the radial direction to a predetermined measurement position. The second cameras are disposed at positions closer to a side of an other end of the metal element pipe than the first camera. The second cameras take images of the metal element pipe in the radial direction from a plurality of imaging positions. The one end identification part identifies a position of the one end on the basis of the image including the one end taken by the first camera. The image selection part selects the image that includes the other end among the images of the metal element pipe taken by the second cameras. The other end identification part identifies a position of the other end on the basis of the image selected by the image selection part. The length calculation part calculates a length of the metal element pipe on the basis of the position of the one end identified by the one end identification part and the position of the other end identified by the other end identification part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
