The present invention relates to an apparatus to produce a metal foil, comprising: an electrolytic bath to contain an electrolytic solution; a rotating drum cathode to be rotated by being partially submerged in the electrolytic bath; an anode submerged in the electrolytic bath, to surround the cathode; and a variable separation means to change a separation point when separating the metal foil deposited on the cathode. The variable separation means comprises: a variable separation roll to change the separation point of the metal foil; and a driving unit to move the variable separation roll along a circumference of the cathode. The driving unit comprises: a driving member to move the variable separation roll; and a driving frame to guide the movement of the variable separation roll along the circumference of the cathode. According to the present invention, the apparatus is able to move the variable separation roll to an adequate location corresponding to a varying thickness of the metal foil, with the variable separation roll to change the location to change the separation point. Moreover, the apparatus is able to prevent separation of the metal foil on a surface of the electrolytic bath or below, by a separation prevention roll to press the metal foil to cathode on an upper portion of the electrolytic solution.
