PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor which is capable of remarkably improving productivity and improves electric properties by extremely improving the adhesion of an inner electrode and an outer electrode, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A plurality of ceramic layers 2 and inner electrodes 3 are alternately laminated, the laminate is crimped and cut to obtain an intermediate product 4 of a multilayer ceramic capacitor, and the intermediate product 4 is then calcined. Next, a treatment aqueous solution containing a halogen-based compound is brought into contact with at least an end in the calcined intermediate product 4 of the multilayer ceramic capacitor and an end portion of the ceramic layer 2 is etched, such that an end face or an end portion of the internal electrode 3 buried in the ceramic layer 2 is exposed from the end face of that ceramic layer 2 to the outside. Outer electrodes 5 are then provided at a plurality of positions in both the end portions or side surfaces in such a manner that the outer electrodes are electrically connected with the inner electrodes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
