PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for suppressing the embryo of potato.SOLUTION: A potato embryo suppressing method comprises: a step of preparing an atmospheric pressure plasma jet generator 1 for creating an atmospheric pressure plasma jet, by using a mixed gas of a helium gas and a nitrogen gas as a plasma material gas, to produce an atmospheric pressure plasma jet; a step of creating a plasma jet 23; and a step of irradiating the embryo 30T of potato 30 with said atmospheric pressure plasma jet 23.
