PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modifier for a cellulose ester resin, from which an optical film excellent in moisture permeation resistance can be obtained, a cellulose ester resin composition containing the modifier, an optical film formed of the resin composition, and a liquid crystal display device using the optical film.SOLUTION: The modifier for a cellulose ester resin is represented by formula (1). In the formula, G represents a residue of a polyhydric alcohol having 2 to 10 carbon atoms; A represents an aromatic monocarboxylic acid residue having a structure in which part of or all of hydrogen atoms on an aromatic ring are replaced by hydroxyl groups; and n represents an integer of 2 to 6. The resin composition comprises a cellulose ester resin and the above modifier; the optical film comprises the resin composition; and the liquid crystal display device has the optical film.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
