PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that accurate measurement cannot be made to at least one toner in an apparatus using both black and color toners having different light reflection characteristics since toner characteristics that can be coped with by the conventional apparatus for measuring the amount of adhesion of toner are uniquely determined. SOLUTION: The apparatus for measuring the amount of adhesion of toner comprises a light receiving element 2 for detecting the mirror surface reflection light and the diffusion reflection light of an image carrier 7, and a light receiving element 3 for detecting only the diffusion reflection light. A switch 12 is provided, where the switch 12 selects the feeding of only the output of the light receiving element 2 in the case of the measurement of the black toner, and the output of the light receiving element 2 and that of the light receiving element 3 in the case of the measurement of the color toner to a differential circuit 11. |
