The cylindrical door closer has a control which ensures accurate operation even if the axes of the cylinder and/or piston are out of line. The tube part is fitted on one end with a lid provided with a sealing gasket. In the centre of the lid a control pin is fitted carrying a sliding control bush which has a smaller dia. than the cylinder, to leave an annular gap. The pin has longitudinal bore and the tip of the pin is tapered to ensure a safe entry into the control bush. The longitudinal bores is pivoted with an adjusting pin having a connecting channel in the form of a flattned part, connecting the lateral bores.
