PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cosmetic effective in suppressing inflammation of skin caused by ultraviolet ray, preventing the darkening of skin caused by the formation of melanin and stably preventing the sunburn of skin, by compounding a ferulic acid amide derivative as an active component. CONSTITUTION:A ferulic acid amide derivative of formula (R is H, straight or branched alkyl or alkenyl) is used as an active component. One or more kinds of the active components of formula are selected and compounded to a cosmetic at an amount of >=0.01wt%, especially preferably >=0.5wt%. Any cosmetic bases used in conventional cosmetics may be used as the above cosmetic. Concrete examples of the compound of formula are ferulic acid amide, ferulic acid methylamide, etc., and the compound can be synthesized by reacting ferulic acid anhydride, etc., with ammonia or a primary amine. |
