PURPOSE:A water wettable coating compound which has sufficient strength of coating film even by water absorption and durability, obtained by blending a coating compound base with a fixed amount of a highly water absorbing resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) A coating compound base (e.g. chlorinated polypropylene, etc.) is blended with 0.1-10wt% highly water absorbing resin (e.g. saponified vinyl acetate acrylic acid ester copolymer or salt of crosslinked material of modified isobutylene maleic anhydride copolymer to give the aimed coating compound.
