The invention relates to a structural element which is intended for the production of suspended tubes or walls and has a rectangular panel which carries four hook protrusions which are arranged in an offset manner with respect to the panel surface, via which neighbouring structural elements are supported one upon the other and which are provided with cams which secure the mutual engagement of the hook protrusions of neighbouring structural elements in the horizontal direction. Owing to the favourable force behaviour, a structural element of this type can be produced in an extremely material-saving manner even from materials of low tensile strength.
