PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain stabilized magnetic characteristics by a method wherein, in an R-B-Fe sintered magnet, the quantity of oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen is controlled at the specifically set content. CONSTITUTION:In the R-B-Fe sintered magnet having R (provided that R indicates at least a kind of rare-earth element containing T), B and Fe as an essential ingredient, the quantity of oxygen in the magnet is specifically set at 0.1-1.2wt.%, the quantity of hydrogen is set at 0.02-0.02wt.% and the quantity of nitrogen is set at 0.04-0.08wt.%. To be more precise, it is difficult to bring the quantity of oxygen to 0.1wt.% or less from the industrial standpoint, because it is not economical and also it produces little effect, and if the oxygen exceeds 1.2wt.%, magnetic characteristics deteriorate. Also, it is industrially difficult to bring the quantity of hydrogen to 0.002wt.% or less, and when the hydrogen exceeds 0.02wt.%, the magnetic characteristics deteriorate. Pertaining to the quantity of nitrogen, it is industrially difficult to lower it to 0.004wt.% or less, and when it exceeds 0.08wt.%, magnetic characteristics deteriorate. Accordingly, the R-B-Fe sintered magnet on which. excellent magnetic characteristics are obtained in a stable manner can be manufactured. |
