<p>A dual function day/night sight for rifles and the like has a unified body. The sight comprises a housing (10) incorporating a power supply (26), an eyepiece (32) and objective lenses (36) for producing a target image arranged co-axially, and the combination of an image intensifier (38) and optical array (40) arranged in fixed parallel position one to the other and interposed between the eyepiece (32) and objective lenses (36). Image beam deflecting means (46) are interposed between the objective lenses (36) and the parallel combination (38, 40). During nighttime use of the sight, the deflecting means (46) are used to apply the incoming image beam to the image intensifier (38). During daytime use of the sight, the deflecting means are used to apply the incoming image beam to the optical array (40).</p> |
