PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject compound useful as a raw material for antithrombotic polymeric materials. SOLUTION: This ethylenic compound of formula I [A is NH or O; R<1> is H or a 1-5C alkyl; R<2> is a group of formula II (R<5> is a 1-6C alkyl, a 2-7C alkoxyalkyl, etc.; R<2> is a 1-3C alkylene), etc.; R<5> is formula III [R<8> and R<9> are each independently H, a 1-4C alkoxy, a 1-4C alkylamino or a 1-4C dialkylamino; R<4> is H or a 1-4C alkyl; (m) is an integer of 0-18; (n) is 3 or 4] containing an arginine derivative bonded thereto, e.g. a compound of formula IV. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. the arginine derivative having one carboxyl group and antithrombin activities with an ethylenic compound having amino or hydroxyl group. |
