PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a galvanized stainless steel sheet excellent in plating adhesion and used for high-level building material, automotive exhaust system materials or the like and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This galvanized stainless steel sheet excellent in plating adhesion is the one in which, on the surface of stainless steel contg. <=0.1% C, 10 to 25% Cr and 0.3 to 3% Mo, an alloy layer of <=5μm thickness contg. 3 to 20% Ni is formed, and furthermore, on the surface, a galvanizing or a galvannealing layer is applied. This steel sheet can be obtd. by applying the stainless steel having the above steel components with Ni electroplating by 0.5 to 4g/m<2> coating weight and moreover executing hot-dip plating in a galvanizing bath contg. 0.1 to 7% Al at <=750 deg.C maximum arrival sheet temp. in a hot-dip plating stage.
