Adjustable adjacent seat backs in road vehicle

The central locking device is for the seats on a motor vehicle. It includes a rotating bolt (1) and a guide member (2). When the rotating bolt is in the horizontal position, the seat back is locked in the vertical position. The backs of two neighbouring seats may be locked together as a single unit. The rotating bolt has a part (3) which engages with one of the seat backs. A further member (4) engages with the other seat back and its motion may be arrested by a lever (5).
