PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition contained in an ink which has excellent ink storage stability and wide color reproducibility, gives good printed images free from strike through and the like, and is used for ink jet recording. SOLUTION: This ink composition is characterized by containing a colorant and seven compounds consisting of diethylne glycol, glycerol, polyethylene glycol #200 (average mol.wt.: 200), diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, 1-methyl-2- pyrrolidone, triethanolamine, and urea. Especially, a compound represented by the general formula (I) is contained as a magenta ink colorant. |
