Torque converter for motor vehicles

The torque converter is positioned between IC engine and automatic transmission. It has a converter housing with mainly radial hollows (44,46,50) in one axial side (42). At least one of the hollows is at a distance to a neighbouring hollow in one circumferential direction, which is different from the distance to a hollow in the other circumferential direction. The hollows are positioned mainly mirror-symmetrical relative to a symmetry line (S), which is orthogonal to a pivot axis.
