PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 4-cycle engine for an outboard engine, which can form a large space for accommodating accessories while improving an engine output. SOLUTION: An injector 19 for injecting fuel directly in a combustion chamber 21 is installed between an intake passage 15 in the cylinder head 8 and a virtual line obtained by extending the combined face of a cylinder body 3 and a cylinder head 8 to the side, when viewed from an axial line direction of a crankshaft 4. This injector 19 is installed in a manner that an axial line thereof is almost in parallel to the intake passage 15. An intake device 16 connected with the intake passage 15 extends along the inner face of a cowling 5 from the cylinder head 8 to a crankcase 2. A vapor separator tank 33 as an accessory is installed in a space S for accommodating accessories formed between the intake device 16 and the cylinder body 3.
