The adapter has a connector for connection to a socket in the mobile telephone, a first amplifier connected to the connector to amplify the caller's signal, a modulator circuit connected to the first amplifier to modulate the amplified caller's signal onto a radio signal, a transmission circuit which transmits the modulated signal to a car radio, a microphone for receiving the users' speech signal and a second amplifier between the microphone and connector for amplifying the microphone signal for input to the telephone.
