PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a card with good cleaning effect for a terminal and prolonging the lifetime of the terminal. SOLUTION: A connector for a card is equipped with a casing 1 to admit insertion of a card 45, a slider installed movably on the card inserting path, a contacting terminal 22 having resilience fixed to the casing 1, and a vertically movable lifter 18 engaged with the slider and holding the forefront of the terminal 22 in a constant position, wherein the lifter 18 is elevated when the card 45 is inserted and the slider moves in the card inserting direction, and the forefront of the terminal 22 pressed by the lifter 18 is lifted to come in contact with the contact terminal of the card inserted 45.
