SOLUTION: This vehicle drive device driven for traveling by the motor driven by receiving a power from the battery or assisting the driving of the engine comprises a battery temperature sensor for detecting a battery temperature Tb, a discharge power upper limit set means 222 for setting the upper limit value Pu of a discharge power Pb according to the battery temperature Tb, a discharge power calculation means 223 for calculating the discharge power Pb of the battery, a rotational speed sensor for detecting the rotational speed Ne of the engine, a basic start torque instruction value set means 221 for setting the basic start torque instruction value TQf according to the rotational speed Ne, and a start instruction value increase/decrease means 225 for reducing a start torque instruction value TQs (TQf) when the discharge power Pb exceeds the discharge power upper limit value Pu at engine start by the motor. |
