摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which can efficiently use light by increasing the intensity of the light in a specific direction. SOLUTION: A light emission device 1,000 has an optical member 100, an anode 30, a hole transfer layer 60, an organic light emission layer 40, an electron transfer layer 70, and an anode 50 stacked in order on a substrate 10. The anode 30 is formed of an electrically conductive material which is transparent to projection light. The optical member 100 is composed of 1st medium layers 110 formed of columnar parts which are, for example, columns on the substrate 10 in specificarry pattern and 2nd medium layers 120 which are different in refractive index from the 1st medium layers 110 and fill the gaps between the 1st medium layers 110. The 1st medium layer 110 have a pattern of a square grating. This optical member 100 has a refractive index distribution which is cyclic in a 1st direction (X direction) and a 2nd direction (Y direction) perpendicular to the X direction. Consequently, the optical member 100 has a light confining function for a specific wavelength band in the two dimensions of the X and Y directions and can project efficient light in a Z direction.
