PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which a write starting position is not shifted even if the pixel density is varied. SOLUTION: Pulse width of a sync detection signal is measured and a pulse at a fixed position independent from the pixel density is generated as a plotter line sync signal based on a measured pulse width. Writing of image data is started at a point of time where the number of pixel clocks corresponding to the distance to a main scanning/writing starting position is counted by a specified number of clocks corresponding to the pixel density with reference to the plotter line sync signal.
