PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker for use in various sound apparatus, especially an elongated speaker being fixed to the opposite sides of a television receiver, having excellent frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: From the joint of a speaker to the edge part 18a of a diaphragm body 18, an annular groove-like outer circumferential reinforcing rib 18b having substantially semicircular cross-section extends over the entire outer circumference in order to suppress division resonance thus flattening the frequency characteristics.
