PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage and supply system by which a fuel battery system capable of rapidly responding with a load fluctuation is made possible. SOLUTION: This system has a raw material storage means 2 housing a hydrogen storage body consisting of an aromatic compound and/or a hydrogen supply body consisting of a hydrogenation derivative of this aromatic compound, a plurality of reaction apparatus 41 to 43 housing metal deposited catalysts 411, etc., for effecting hydrogenation of the hydrogen storage body and/or dehydrogenation of the hydrogen supply body and heaters 413, etc., raw material supplying means for supplying the hydrogen storage body and/or the hydrogen supply body to the reaction apparatus, gas-liquid separating means 5 for condensing formed gas and separating this gas to the hydrogen storage body and/or the hydrogen supply body and control means 10 for controlling the conditions of hydrogenation reaction and/or dehydrogenation reaction. A prescribed amount of the hydrogen storage body and/or the hydrogen supply body is supplied to the respective reaction apparatus with the prescribed period and the supply timing successively delayed.
