<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen synthesis promoter that can increase the collagen production, a cosmetic composition including the collagen synthesis promoter and a method for efficiently screening the compounds that can improve the collagen synthesis ability. <P>SOLUTION: The collagen synthesis promoter includes a compound that reduces the amount of glutathione in a fibroblast and a cosmetic composition including the collagen synthesis promoter are provided.
