PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device for precisely detecting a vertical transfer path in which vertical unevenness occurs fixedly. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device 1 comprises an operation section 3, a control section 5, a timing generation section 7, an imaging drive section 9, an imaging section 11, an optical system drive section 13, an optical system 15, a preprocessing section 17, a signal processing section 25, a display section 27, a recording section 29, a media control section 31, and a medium 33. An addition average section 91 provided at the preprocessing section 17 adds and averages the signal level value of the optical black positioned at the same row as an effective pixel by a plurality of frames and in the same direction as the vertical transfer path, thus obtaining a value precisely reflecting the position of the vertical unevenness occurring fixedly, and precisely detecting the vertical transfer path in which the vertical unevenness occurs.
