<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tail gate structure capable of preventing the lock from being illegally released, formed simply, and having easily secured rigidity. <P>SOLUTION: In this tail gate structure 15, a tail gate 17 is formed of an outer panel 31, a frame 32, and a lining 33 covering the frame 32, and a lock mechanism 43 capable of locking the tail gate 17 to a vehicle body 11 is installed in the frame 32. In the frame 32, a frame opening 61 is formed between the mounting holes 35, 36 for mounting external mounting parts and the lock mechanism 43.
