PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fix a pull string by fixing one end of the pull string to a fixing part formed on the relatively wide back face of a casing through a guide part formed in the outer peripheral section of the casing, and locking the pull string to a locking part formed in a switch member between the guide part and the fixing part. SOLUTION: This alarm 1 is provided with: a detection part for detecting a detection object; an alarm part for issuing an alarm based on the detection result of the detection part; a casing for storing the detection part and the warning part; and a switch member 7 for checking the operation of the warning part according to a depressing operation or a pulling operation by a pull string 9. One end of the pull string 9 is fixed to the fixing part 3 formed on the back face of the casing through a guide part 4 formed in the outer peripheral part of the casing, and a part of the pull string 9 between the guide part 4 and the fixing part 3 is locked to the locking part 8 formed in the switch member 7 so as to freely slide, and the locking part 8 is moved close to a straight line connecting the guide part 4 and the fixing part 3 based on the increase of the tension of the pull string 9 according to the pulling operation of the pull string 9 so that the switch member 7 can be operated.
