The invention relates to a man-made mineral fibre for the three-dimensional reinforcement of a cement product, which is differs in that it is in the form of a coaxial coat-core fibre, in which the core contains a thermoplastic polymer and the coat contains a thermoplastic polymer resistant to a medium with a pH >11, and also one or more types of hydrophilic and/or surface-active agent in a quantity of 3-30% of the total mass of the coat, or the coat contains a thermoplastic polymer which is resistant to a medium with a pH>11 and is graft with active and unsaturated monomers representing 3-25% of the total mass of the coat, wherein, in both cases, the surface tension of the coat is equal to or greater than 45 mN/m. A method for producing said fibre, a cement product containing such a fibre and a method for producing said cement product are also disclosed.
