detect a designated position on the display section indicated by a user; when the detected designated position is in a first area of the display section, display an indicator on the display section at a first timing, the indicator indicating a position, in the entirety of the content, of the part of the content displayed on the display section; and when the detected designated position is designated to a second area of the display section different from the first area display the indicator on the display section at a second timing that is different from the first timing.
