METHOD OF FABRICATING POROUS BODY FOR STREAM PURIFICATION FUNCTIONING AS BOTH ADSORBENT AND MICROBIAL MEDIA USING WASTE OYSTER SHELL

PURPOSE: A method of fabricating porous body functioning as both adsorbent and microbial media using waste oyster shell is provided to environmental friendly purify stream and wastewater. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of crushing waste oyster shell to less than 30 mesh size after washing and drying; mixing 100 parts by weight of oyster shell powder with 20 to 35 parts by weight of low density polyethylene additive; and molding the mixture at 100 to 150°C.
