The invention relates to a method for operating a mixing container (3) of a latent heat storage (1), wherein a heat storage fluid (11) changes between a liquid and a solid phase and the liquid heat storage fluid (11) has a higher density than the heat transfer fluid (5). In this method, the solid and liquid heat storage fluid (11) is concentrated after mixing with the heat transfer fluid (5) by means of the geometry of the mixing container (3, 7, 20) and the flow guiding of the heat storage fluid (11) and heat transfer fluid (5) through the mixing container (3), is then separated at a boundary layer (12) from the heat transfer fluid (5) and removed by a flow (23) of heat storage fluid (11), which is induced below the boundary layer (12), in the direction of an ice storage (2) via a pipeline (4). Subsequently, the liquid heat storage fluid (11) is separated from the solid heat storage fluid (11) in the ice storage (2). The method and the design of the mixing container (3) avoids in particular the critical clogging of mixing container (3), heat exchanger (21) and pipelines (6, 16) as well as both pumps (8, 17) by solid heat storage fluid (11). |
