The rechargeable battery pack (10) has a housing portion (14) that is provided with an inner receiving space for several lithium ion single cells which are electrically connected with each other. The receiving space of the housing portion is divided into single rooms by partition walls. A cell pack of a predetermined number of single cells is arranged in the single room so as to form an independent component which is held in the single room. The single cells of the cell pack are electrically connected by cell connectors.
