<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system for executing settlement by using a mobile terminal without operating the mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile terminal 1 is preliminarily set with a nickname for identifying its own terminal. A display 22 of an automatic vending machine 2 displays the list of the mobile terminal 1 which enters the area of radio communication with its nickname. A user retrieves the nickname of the mobile terminal 1 from the list, and designates it by touching it with the finger in order to make the automatic vending machine 2 uniquely identify the mobile terminal 1. The user inputs a PIN code from a ten key 23 in order to execute terminal authentication. The user makes a settlement server 3 authenticate the mobile terminal 1 according to the input of a password, and the settlement server 3 communicates with the automatic vending machine 2 in order to actually execute settlement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
