<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intrusion of the pilot water into a hull. <P>SOLUTION: In this outboard motor 2, a propeller unit 6 is supported by the hull 1 through a swivel bracket 33, and a propeller 25 arranged in a lower rear part of the propeller unit 6 is driven by an engine 9 arranged in an upper part of the propeller unit 6 through a drive shaft 15 and a propeller shaft 22, and the propeller unit 6 is turned in relation to the swivel bracket 33 to change position thereof for forward and backward movement. The propeller unit 6 is formed with a pilot water discharge hole 88 for the engine 9, and a separate gutter member 89 for receiving the pilot water fallen from the pilot water discharge hole 88 to flow the pilot water outside of the hull is installed, and this gutter member 89 is positioned under a locus of the pilot water discharge hole 88 in the hull. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
