<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus capable of properly correcting color slurring between respective colors by accurately detecting an image for measuring color slurring amount. <P>SOLUTION: This color image forming apparatus 100 is provided with a means 40 for controlling the image forming position of a developer image in a plurality of colors by image forming means PY to PBk based on each of positional information obtained by detecting color slurring measuring images in a plurality of colors 601 to 620 consecutively formed on a carrying means 30 by the image forming means PY to PBk by using a detection means 50. In the apparatus 100, at least one of the consecutive images 601 to 620 is set as a reference image 601 and formed to be thicker in the moving direction of the carrying means than other images 602 to 620.
