PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composite material having excellent scratch resistance and abrasion resistance, etc., and suitable for household appliance, etc., by coating the surface of a molded article of an engineering plastic with a cured film composed of an organic polysiloxane composition. CONSTITUTION:At least the coating part of the surface of a molded article of an engineering plastic (e.g. polysulfone, polyether ether ketone, etc.) is converted to hydrophilic by low-temperature plasma treatment and coated with an organic polysiloxane composition containing the compound of formula (R<1> and R<2> are alkyl, alkenyl, etc.; R<3> is hydrolyzable group; a and b are 0 or 1) and the coating layer is cured. The thickness of the coating film is preferably 0.1-20mu, especially 0.4-10mu to maintain high adhesive strength and attain high hardness, etc.
